A Big Life: From Runway to Real
World
Sissy and The Budget Fashionista Kathy
Finney offer tips for picking the perfect outfit without putting a hole in
your pocket.
- Dress for the person you are now. This means shopping for the kind
of person and body type that you are at this time in your life rather
than the person you were five or ten years ago. This will ensure that
you look hip and fresh and that your clothes fit right.
- Make sure you know what you are looking for. Big department stores
can be really overwhelming with all the sales racks and discounts. Have
a plan so that you don’t get lost in the endless racks of clothing.
- When buying an item always consider the “cost for wear.” You take
the cost of the item and divide it by the number of times you think you
will wear it. This will help you decide if you are getting your money's
worth.
- When you are looking to create an outfit in a bargain store take one
item and focus on that. By building an outfit around one item it will
help make your outfit a success.
- Jeans are in this season. Dress them up by choosing a nice fitted
top with a belt. If you don’t have a thick belt, you can use two thin
belts to finish the look.
